At the beginning of the 2001-02 academic year John Edmond and others in the Senate began planning a newsletter to go out to members of the Academic Senate on a regular basis. An earlier newsletter (circa 1994) had been received with interest and it was believed this would provide a mechanism for the dissemination of information on the Senate's activities to its members. The idea was to produce a small (4 to 6 page) inexpensively printed newsletter perhaps once a quarter. However, in light of difficult budget times this effort has been scaled back. Nonetheless, John Edmond found that he regularly needed to send emails out to all Senate members advising them on current matters such as the Gender Equity Climate Survey, the Faculty Grants Program, the joint Administration/Senate Review of the Academic Calendar, etc..
